General & Engagement
We coordinate inspections across primary regional terminals, anchorages, dry docks, and canal transit zones, with worldwide dispatch capabilities for specialized pre-purchase and consultancy assignments.
While 48 to 72 hours is standard to arrange launch services and terminal permits, our operations desk accommodates short-notice and emergency port-call turnarounds whenever vessel schedules demand immediate attendance.
A preliminary summary highlighting critical deficiencies or detention risks is issued within 12 to 24 hours of disembarking. The final, fully documented technical report—complete with photographic logs and recommendations—is delivered within 3 to 5 business days.
Yes. We operate with total operational independence. We do not act as ship brokers, equipment vendors, or repair contractors, guaranteeing unvarnished, objective reporting focused solely on your commercial and technical interests.
Our reports are proprietary and confidential to the appointing client. We never disclose findings to charterers, buyers, underwriters, or maritime authorities without explicit written instruction from you.
Port State Control (PSC) & Regulatory Compliance
It serves as a mock inspection conducted under actual Port State Control criteria. By identifying deficiencies in safety gear, mechanical systems, or crew familiarity before official boarding, you avoid detentions, negative PSC database records, and commercial off-hire penalties.
We attend the vessel post-inspection to inspect physical rectifications, examine replacement parts or calibration certificates, and verify procedural changes. We then draft a formal verification report that can be submitted to Flag State or PSC authorities to close out pending items.
We evaluate the practical implementation of your Safety Management System (SMS), onboard drills, security access controls, rest hour records, crew living conditions, and safety committee logs, identifying compliance gaps before statutory audits occur.
While the legal authority rests with the attending PSC officer, proactively rectifying high-risk items (such as quick-closing valves, fire dampers, emergency generators, and oily water separators) eliminates the primary technical triggers for detention.
Vessel Condition & Charter Surveys
It provides a complete overview of the ship’s physical and operational state, evaluating hull structure, deck machinery, cargo containment spaces, ballast tanks, accommodation, engine room maintenance, and class statutory status.
It provides an undeniable baseline of the ship’s structural condition, hold cleanliness, and bunker quantities (ROB) at the exact moment of delivery or redelivery, preventing costly charter party disputes over pre-existing damage.
Yes. We perform physical tank soundings, temperature corrections, and density calculations to verify fuel oil, low-sulfur gas oil, and lube oil quantities on board alongside the structural survey.
Yes. We inspect holds for cleanliness, rust scale, previous cargo residue, paint flaking, and bilge drainage integrity to verify compliance with shippers’ requirements (such as grain-clean or fertilizer standards).
Pre-Arrival & Port-Call Readiness
Schedule attendance prior to entering strict regulatory jurisdictions, sensitive waterways, or high-risk terminals where bridge, propulsion, or environmental system failures carry severe fines or mandatory tug escort penalties.
We check critical maneuvering machinery: steering gear power units and emergency controls, bridge-to-engine telegraphs, anchor windlasses, navigation lights, emergency generators, and main engine ahead/astern responsiveness.
Machinery, Safety & Engine Room Diagnostics
Beyond reviewing planned maintenance records, we physically inspect running conditions, vibration levels, leakage paths, auxiliary systems, purifier rooms, high-pressure piping protection, and the operational integrity of boiler automation.
Yes. Where operations permit, we witness functional tests of lifeboats, emergency fire pumps, quick-closing fuel valves, foam systems, ECDIS backup power, radar arrays, and GMDSS reserve radio supplies.
Surveys are non-destructive and non-intrusive unless specifically commissioned for opened-up machinery during drydock or overhaul. We assess operational parameters, maintenance logs, alarm histories, and physical external condition.
Pre-Purchase Inspections & Asset Valuation
Pre-purchase surveys are exhaustive due-diligence evaluations. They cover full historical class record analyses, major defect histories, upcoming CAPEX requirements for special surveys/drydocks, and detailed structural inspections of accessible ballast tanks and machinery spaces.
Yes, provided the vessel owner issues a Letter of Authority (LoA) allowing us to access the ship’s classification society files, statutory survey history, and condition-of-class notes.
Yes. We provide prioritized lists of immediate rectifications versus deferred maintenance, giving buyers and financiers a realistic projection of capital investment required to keep the ship trading.
Where gas-free safety permits, we enter representative water ballast tanks to evaluate cathodic protection, corrosion pitting, and protective coating conditions (good/fair/poor classification).
Marine Technical Consultancy & Commercial Scope
We assist with drafting and vetting repair specifications, evaluating yard tenders, supervising onboard execution, verifying steel renewal quantities, and negotiating final invoices with shipyards.
Yes. We provide root-cause analysis, factual damage surveys, repair cost appraisals, and independent technical opinions for owners, legal counsel, P&I clubs, and hull underwriters.
Most standard vessel attendances (PSC readiness, pre-arrival, on-hire/off-hire) are billed as fixed-rate lump sums plus verified travel expenses. Complex pre-purchase surveys, extended drydock supervision, or technical consultancy are quoted on a competitive daily rate or custom project scope.
